At Race City Roofing, we work with a wide variety of roofing materials on a wide variety of projects. One service that our team provides is metal roof installation. This process works somewhat differently than the process to install a shingle roof, so to help you know what to expect, here is a basic overview of the steps involved:

  • Measuring – The first step in the metal roof installation process is to carefully measure the roof, including every eave, gable, valley, and side wall. This is extremely important, as the pieces of metal roofing need to be cut precisely or they won’t fit together right and won’t give you the protection you need.

  • Preparing the Roof Deck – The next step is to prepare the roof for its new metal covering. This typically involves removing all the old shingles and ensuring that the roof deck is completely smooth.
  • Preparing the Materials – Before the actual metal roof installation can begin, our team will have to prepare all of our tools and materials. This includes gathering all our supplies, including equipment such as metal snips and seamers, and cutting all the metal to the right size.

  • Installation – Once everything is ready to go, we’ll start the metal roof installation proper by applying all the sheeting to the roof deck. We’ll fit all the pieces together, then use a seam to ensure that no gaps remain between any of the segments. We’ll also apply the trim for maximum protection and to make it look great.
