When your roof gets damaged in one way or another—whether it’s wind damage, hail, flying branches, leaks, or any of the many other things you might encounter over the course of homeownership—you will likely need to invest in roof repair. But if this is your first time needing to repair your roof, you might be wondering exactly what sort of timeframe you are looking at for your roof to be brought back to its original state.

How Long Does Roof Repair Take?

How long it takes to repair your roof will depend on many factors. If the repair job is a light patch in a simple area of your roof, it will likely only take a few hours. However, there are many factors that might lengthen the time your roof repair takes. For instance, more extensive damage will of course mean a longer repair time as we work to patch up the whole problem. It can also be more difficult to work on more complex roofs—we will have to work around irregularly shaped roofs, which can increase the amount of time a repair takes.

All of these factors and more can contribute to the length of time your roof repair takes. The outside end of a roof repair job can be around five days. However, the vast majority of cases fall well below that, usually within the range of a single day.
